ControlX Engineering designs, programs and commissions control systems for plants and infrastructure across the Hunter, and works remotely for clients elsewhere in NSW. Since 2021 we have worked for around forty organisations, most of them more than once: councils, a port, water and property operators, chemical, food and pharmaceutical plants, machine builders, and the installers and electrical firms that serve them.
Who you deal with
Site engineers do the fault finding, commissioning, panel modifications and drawings. They are the people on site when something has stopped, across the Hunter. Licensed electrical work stays with your electrician; we work alongside them.
Software engineers build the SCADA, dashboards, data pipelines, cloud and the software side of machines, and deliver remotely.
Alex Sharikov, director and lead engineer, founded ControlX in 2021 after 17 years in industrial controls and automation: conveyors and drives first, then PLC programming, SCADA and custom software. He scopes and quotes the work, designs the larger jobs and is one of the engineers you will meet on site.
How a job runs
Call, look, quote, do. Small jobs are billed by the hour against a published rate card and usually take one to five days. Anything bigger gets a written scope with exclusions before you commit. Every job ends with a note of what changed and a backup you keep. PLC programs and HMI or SCADA screens carry a 12-month warranty, and existing clients get priority on fault calls.
